She received grand prize at The 8th Hamamatu City Museum Print Competition and encouraging prize at 13th KIRIN ART AWARD. Moreover, her works are stored as public collectins at Osaka Contemporary Art, Museum Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts, Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium and so on.
In this solo-ehixition at Gallery Jin, 6 paintings and 11 lithograph and paper cutouts will be exhibited.

Recently I produce my works under the theme of empty. Empty means vacancy, but it also means absence.
I almost always paint unremarkable place and scenery. Usually, I choose stand-alone buildings like bowling alley, parking area and freeway as a motif of my works. However, this time, I paint the airport lobby, the bank of Yodo river, the screen of late-night television show and so on. By using such motifs, I want to fasten the feeling of vague “absence” on my works. (Eiko Tanaka)
